HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF LAYLATUL QADR

22nd March 2025

As we find ourselves nearing the end of Ramadhan, a time of spiritual significance, it is crucial to make the most of these precious moments.

Among these ten days lies a night of unparalleled importance and immense reward – Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Power. This blessed night, as described in the Quran, is worth more than a thousand months (Surah Al-Qadr, 97:3), signifying its extraordinary significance and the huge blessings it carries.

Here are 8 ways to maximise the blessings of these final days:

1. Seek Forgiveness: Turn to Allah (SWT) with sincerity and seek forgiveness for any shortcomings or sins. Allah's mercy knows no bounds, and these days are a perfect opportunity to cleanse our hearts and souls.

2. Donate to Charity: Follow the teachings of the Quran and the Hadith by giving generously to those in need. Charity not only helps those less fortunate but also purifies our wealth and hearts.

3. Read the Quran: Dedicate time each day to reciting and reflecting upon the Quran. As Allah (SWT) says in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:185), "The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion."

4. Watch or Listen to Islamic Lectures or Talks: Immerse yourself in beneficial knowledge by tuning in to Islamic lectures or talks on Inspire FM. These can provide valuable insights and reminders to strengthen our faith.

5. Pray in the Masjid: Whenever possible, attend congregational prayers in the masjid. The atmosphere of worship and community enhances our spiritual experience and draws us closer to Allah (SWT).

6. Make Lots of Dua: Take advantage of these blessed nights, especially during the last third of the night, to supplicate to Allah (SWT).

"Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annee" (O Allah, You are forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me).

"Allahumma ajirni minan-naar" (O Allah, save me from the Fire).

7. Offer voluntary prayers: In addition to the obligatory prayers, engage in voluntary prayers such as Tahajjud. These extra acts of worship earn us immense rewards and bring us closer to Allah (SWT).

8. Make Lots of Dhikr: Keep your tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah (SWT) throughout the day. Dhikr serves as a means of drawing closer to Allah (SWT).

May Allah (SWT) grant us the strength and guidance to make the most of these last ten days of Ramadhan. Let us strive to increase our worship, draw closer to Allah, and emerge from this blessed month as better versions of ourselves. Ameen.
