GOOD CHARACTER IN ISLAM

Being Muslim isn’t just about saying you’re Muslim. It’s more about showing Islam through the way we act, speak and behave.
Abud-Darda (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that The Prophet ﷺ said, "Nothing is placed on the Scale that is heavier than good character. Indeed the person with good character will have attained the rank of the person of fasting and prayer." At- Tirmidhi, hadith 2003
Good character is a very important part of being a Muslim. We should always try to be the best we can be. Here are some ways we can implement good character in our lives:
1) Return a greeting in a better manner
“And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet [in return] with one better than it or [at least] return it [in a like manner]. Indeed, Allah is ever, over all things, an Accountant.” Surah An-Nisa, verse 86
2) Think good of others
“Why, when you heard it, did not the believing men and believing women think good of one another and say, "This is an obvious falsehood"?” Surah An-Nur, verse 12
3) Respond to evil with good
“And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend.” Surah Fussilat, verse 34
4) Walk in a humble manner
“And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace” Surah Al-Furqan, verse 63
5) Don’t forget to do good yourself before telling others
“Do you order righteousness of the people and forget yourselves while you recite the Scripture? Then will you not reason?” Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 44
