Inspire FM Open Day Review!

Posted on: 30 October 2014

On Wednesday 29th October, after 5 years as a full-time community radio station, Inspire FM opened its doors to the public for the first time. For a full 12 hours, from 8am till 8pm Inspire FM was open to the public, to come in and take a tour of the studio. The much awaited event was greeted with an excellent response from the local community with a mixture of local organisations and members of the public attending, excited to walk through the doors of Inspire to find out how it all works. Visitors were granted with a unique opportunity to gain open access to the studio, sit in the hot seat of the broadcasting machine, record jingles for the studio, meet the presenters and managers and treat themselves to the tasty refreshments on offer provided by Milan day centre.

Going into its fifth year as a full-time broadcast set in the heart of the local community, Inspire FM decided that the time had finally come to hold an open day for the public to showcase the hard work, efforts and achievements of the team and launch into the next phase of development for the station. With visitors from local organisations including the Beds fire service, Alzheimer’s Society UK, Dallow Parish, Active 8, Keech Hospice and Regiment Army Air Corps alongside a number of families, students and children, guests were able to strengthen and establish new links, find out in greater detail the work behind the scenes and aims of the station and discover the ways to get involved in the future work of Inspire.

Lucky attendees were entered into a raffle to win sold out tickets to see the globally acclaimed Nasheed artist, Maher Zain and visitors left with a bag of treats full of Inspire memorabilia. Delighted guests left commenting that the day was ‘a good idea,’ and stating that the station provided ‘an excellent community service.’

Thank you to all of those who attended the successful event, it was an superb day and we hope you enjoyed it as much as Inspire did! If you were unable to attend but would still like to find out how to get involved in the work of inspire, please email us at:, or visit our website:
